Our brain has more than 100 billion cells, each connected to at least 20,000 other cells. It contains about 86 billion nerve cells The average male has a brain volume of 1,274 cubic centimetres.

The average female brain has a volume of 1,131 cm cube.

Now tell me how many of you remember the exact lines I said just now?

Well, some of you will tell me the exact lines I said, some of you will be in a little confusion, and some are still figuring out what question I asked!

This is because understanding capacity or remembering tendency differs from person to person. That is why recalling or revising a particular thing, especially related to studies is important for students! As we aren’t experts if I am not wrong. 

A very cheerful morning to one and all present over here, respected jury members, my fellow opponents, and my dear friends,

I am (add your name), standing before you all, going to speak for the motion “homework should be given”.

As I mentioned earlier the fact that all people have different tendencies to learn things, some are quick, some take a long time. And if am not wrong all the educational institutes are meant to teach all the students not specifically to the quick learners. So giving homework is undoubtedly the right choice.

I would like my fellow opponents to recall something from yesterday the time when (add the name of your teacher) told us that we have to debate today and you went back to your home... I hope you remembered, now I would like to ask my fellow opponents that you did your homework or not? I mean he didn’t give us 10 mathematical problems to solve but we were supposed to do some research and collect some facts for ourselves because we have to be presentable right? And let us accept that we all are not that intelligent that we will speak 3-4 mins straight, that to facts.. because mostly debates are fact-based! And all of us can't know them without doing homework… so homework is important for self-growth. Sometimes when we are in class and a teacher is teaching we go into our dreamy world due to lack of attention and we miss some of the important topics. But if we will go and do the homework then we will recall that yes I missed this one today, let me try to understand it now otherwise I will ask my teacher tomorrow again. But if there will be no homework then what will happen? The parts we missed to understand will get increased and we will be in trouble at that time when we need it the most.

I am not saying that lots of homework should be given as that will not be justified but we young souls are energetic enough to do some regular homework for self-development and of course for the satisfaction of our parents as well.. as they want to see that we are studying at least for an hour right! Jokes apart but this is a fact that they want us to engage ourselves in studies so why not! We can do this easily and this is not a big deal. 

I know my fellow opponents must be thinking that we are not kids anymore and we don't need homework but some of us need to get homework because not all the students' study by themselves.

So, at last, I just want to say that homework should be given as humans, that we are, need to revise or recall things to understand them better and also we can't deny the fact that schools will never stop giving homework as they already know the importance.
